By now I hope that you have noticed that small groups will be starting back on February 14. Why do we have small group time?  Is it just another program to go to or is it more.  I would like to encourage you to think of it as more than just another program, but to think of it as how to grow closer to our Lord and Savior, a relationship with our God.

Men you will have two different classes to go to just for men.  Bill Rigsby will be teaching on Ecclesiastes during the first six weeks in the Men’s Bible Study, and during the last six weeks he will be teaching on the book of James.  Men’s Fraternity class will be continuing this session.   Men’s Fraternity is designed to help men come together and strengthen each other through weekly meetings that combine biblical teaching and small group interaction.

Parents, help your children gain control of their lives with this biblical based course called Boundaries with Kids. Drs. Cloud and Townsend addresses the critical issues involved in learning when to say “Yes and when to say No” to help your children gain control of their lives.  Pam Parker and Cathy Freeman will facilitate this DVD led class.

You could choose to be a part of Bob Parker and Ralph Freeman’s class on Evangelism.  Learn some evangelistic strategies to use today in sharing Christ with others.

Steve Morgan has again agreed to teach a course in Cooking.  Please sign up early for this class; it is limited to the first 10 participants.  There will be a $10.00 fee to help cover the cost of the supplies.

Couples will have the opportunity to attend two different marriage classes.  The first six weeks Bruce and Judy Brown will lead the course Fireproof Your Marriage.  This study challenges couples to work through relational issues and to look at love as a lifetime commitment.  The second six weeks Jimmy and Jane White will lead the course Extraordinary Marriage. This study will challenge couples to never again settle for an ordinary relationship.  It will offer a step by step plan for couples to evaluate their own marriage and work towards that vision of an extraordinary marriage.

In the sanctuary for the first six weeks I will teach the course Forged By Faith.  We will explore the history of Baptist and how the Southern Baptist Convention was forged.  The second six weeks Charles Thrift will lead the Sanctuary Bible Study.

Ladies, Lynda Rigsby will be leading the Women’s Bible Study.  The session will be Beth Moore’s study on Esther: It’s Tough Being a Woman.  You will see how Esther trusted God and learn to trust the God who is in your corner.

Children ages 3-6 will have the opportunity to sing in our Cherub Choir. Children in the first grade through fifth grade will use G-Force again.  G-Force is an exciting interactive study for children.  Youth will be studying the lineage of Jesus from Genesis to his birth.

And for our little ones we will have our nursery open.  Please use this opportunity to grow, learn, and share with your family here at North Anderson Baptist Church.

Dear Church,

On behalf of the youth and youth workers, I would like to thank you all for your donations to help fund our trip to Chillipepper last month.  It is so wonderful to be a part of a church who loves their youth so well.

During the month of February, the youth will continue our study of the Old Testament on Wednesday nights.  We want to know what happened before Jesus came to earth. The goal in learning history is to strengthen our understanding of God’s story so that we can better understand and discover or role in His story.  It is an overview of the people, places and events which led to the birth, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  We are learning history by tracing genealogy of Jesus found in the first chapter of the book of Matthew.

Sunday School will be a time of learning about the church.  We want to know what God wants the church to be.  We will continue our study of the book of Acts this month to discover the establishment and initial spread of the church.  Later this semester, we will seek to discover what has happened between the days of Acts and today.  Why do we do the things the way we do?  Does everyone worship the same way we do?  Why not?  Are we right?  Are they right?  We want to know what God wants his bride to be so that we do not simply go through the motions.  What is the purpose of the church?

Small Groups will start again soon.  Guys will meet with guys, and ladies will be with the ladies for a weekly session of deliberately talking life and applying God’s word to living life—life that is a fragrant offering to God.

As always I ask that you pray for us as we seek God.  Thank you for loving and supporting your youth.
