This Week at North Anderson

Hello North Anderson family and friends!

I hope that your week has gotten off to a fantastic start and have been thinking, as I have, about what a blessing it was this past Sunday morning to be able to recognize and honor the dads in our lives, and in our congregation, who are such difference makers. We’re very blessed at North Anderson to have such Godly men who provide leadership and direction. Praise His name.

With that said, I was admittedly dragging a bit on Sunday, as I had spent most of the week in Dallas, at the Annual Meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention with more than 10,000 of my closest friends!

During both of our Adult DiscipleU Bible studies on Wednesday, I’ll give a brief report of how things went at the Annual Meeting and share a few highlights, and things that we should be praying about.

So that we don’t spend an inordinate amount of time reading through the main resolutions that were passed by our convention, I will include a link to them here. Let me just say that I could not be more pleased with these resolutions as they were among the clearest, strongest, and most conservative resolutions that have been passed by our convention in the nearly 25 years that I have been involved in convention life. Those speaking to how Southern Baptist think and feel about things such as God’s design for gender, marriage, and family as well as pornography and sports betting (which is in danger of coming to our state), were necessary resolutions and send a clear message to our world and specifically to our legislators.

Keep in mind, we’ll be bringing the kids up on the platform this Sunday to lead in reciting the command and to celebrate their memorization, we’ll be announcing something special they’ll get to do this summer!

June is flying by so don’t forget our WMU Mission Project – Throughout the month of June, we are collecting items for the Anderson Pregnancy Care center.  This incredible ministry serves pregnant women in a variety of ways. They provide free ultrasounds to help women to see that the child inside their womb is more than a lifeless clump of cells, but a living being, created in God’s image and who is worthy of life! They also provide training for parents and necessary goods and resources for under-served, underprivileged parents.
What we’re collecting: Clothing (size 2T and under), baby lotion, baby shampoo, baby towels, socks, booties, bibs, diaper cream, pacifiers, baby wipes, baby blankets, and so forth (you can find a full list of items in the Welcome Center)

Coming soon –
Beginning Sunday, June 29th, we’ll take a journey through selected Psalms that will be the focus of our Sunday morning sermons throughout the remainder of the summer. We hope you’ll join us for “Summer In The Psalms”!

Verse of the week – “Give thanks in everything; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (CSB)

Prayer Emphasis This Week – Muslims of Delhi, India
Pray for a team of local believers who have been developing new strategies to carry out the task of the Great Commission. They have been faithful to sow gospel seeds. Intercede for them as they now focus on those who have shown an interest in Jesus Christ, the Messiah. Last month, you were asked to pray for Pia, who was baptized at the end of March. Please keep lifting her up as she continues her new discipleship journey. Pray that she will grow in boldness to share the gospel with her family, friends, and neighbors.
