This Week At North Anderson

This Week At North Anderson:

WEDNESDAY – All regular activities are on schedule for Wednesday including, Adult DiscipleU Bible Study at 10:30am (FLC) or 6:30pm (Sanctuary), North Anderson Children’s Ministry at 6:30pm, and True North Students at 6:30pm

*Also keep in mind that Choir rehearsal resumes this Wednesday at 5:30pm in the Sanctuary. We would LOVE to see a full choir on Sunday so if you are a choir member, former choir member, or would like to check it out, please come! We’d love for you to be a part of this wonderful ministry that leads people to the throne of grace in worship through song!

THURSDAY – Men’s Bible Study at Mama Penns at 7:00am

SATURDAY – We will be hosting the Saluda Baptist Association WMU Fall Meeting / Workshop from 9:00am-11:00am at North Anderson. Ladies, come on out!

Also on Saturday, the True North Student Ministry (6th-12th Grade) will be having a Back-To-School Pool Party from 3:00-8:00pm at the Gillispie’s (250 McAllister Drive, Pendleton)

SUNDAY – We’ll gather for Bible Fellowship Classes at 9:15am and then assemble in the Sanctuary for corporate worship at 10:30pm!

*Reminder – the Deacon nomination forms that you received on Sunday will be due this Sunday morning. Please prayerfully, and using the Biblical qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:8-13 as a guide, list up to three men that you believe would serve us well as Deacons

“Deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. In the same way, the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything. A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well. Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus” - 1 Timothy 3:8-13

Looking Ahead:
Although not an official shower, we'd love to bless and "sprinkle" the Rydin's with diapers and wipes (they prefer unscented and would like to avoid Pampers) as they prepare for their little one's arrival.
If you'd like to participate, simply bring your gift and place it on the table outside the family life center. It will be up the remainder of August.
Let's shower them with love (and baby essentials) as we celebrate the blessing of new life God is bringing into their family.

DMA (Senior Adult) Luncheon on Thursday, August 21st at noon

Bible Fellowship Leaders Brunch on Saturday, August 23rd from 9:30-11:00am (FLC)

The Labor Day Weekend Picnic will be held on Sunday, August 31st at 5:00pm. Please bring a dessert to share and a chair to sit in. We will be celebrating baptism as well!

August Mission Project: Our Missions Team will be collecting supplies for the Calvary Home For Children. This Children’s Home in Anderson is a non-profit organization that cares for children who have been abused or neglected and are often in the Foster care system.
There are currently 5 group homes on their campus and the children are cared for in a homelike setting.
We will collect items for them during August. These are a few of the things they need:
Paper Towels, Liquid Hand Soap (like Dial), Paper Plates, Q-Tips (cotton), Ziplock Bags (quart and gallon), Children’s Motrin Pain Reliever (generic okay), Heavy duty Aluminum Foil             Benadryl Tablets (generic okay), Dishwasher Pods, Disinfecting Wipes (like Clorox or Lysol), Spray Cleaner (like Pine Sol or Lysol), Laundry Detergent

Verse for the week: “In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” – Psalm 56:4

Prayer Focus This Week:  Malong of the Philippines (mah-LONG)
Pray for the water drilling team as they finish drilling a new well that offers flowing water to a new community among the Malong people. Ask God to continue to draw the Malong men to the team’s devotional study each day and for hearts to be open to hear the stories. The community is thankful for the source of water now available to them. Pray for the water drilling team as they explain to the Malong community how they can have living water if they believe and follow Jesus, who offers salvation and abundant grace.
