This Week At North Anderson
Hello North Anderson family and friends!
We’re so very grateful for the incredible morning of worship and evening in prayer that we were able to share in this past Sunday! The Lord is so good to us and He is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise!
We’ve got many things on the calendar this week and pray that you’ll dive in!
On Wednesday:
In addition to our First Wednesday Meal that will be served from 5:00-6:00pm, we have all of our regular Wednesday activities with Adult DiscipleU Classes at 10:30am (FLC) and 6:30pm (Sanctuary), as well as Children’s ministry and True North Students at 6:30pm
*On the Menu for this week: Baked Potato, Salad, a drink and brownie/ice cream for dessert! The cost is $8 per plate and is capped at $32 per family (can be paid online)
This Thursday:
The Men’s Bible Study will be held at 7:00am at Mama Penn’s
On Saturday:
Our Ladies Ministry will host Coffee Chat in the FLC at 10:00am
On Sunday:
We encourage you to join us for Bible Fellowship Classes that are available for all ages and stages of life at 9:15am and for worship at 10:30am. We’ll be continuing our series of messages in the book of Psalms with a sermon from Pastor Kyle from Psalm 56
*Also on Sunday, you will receive a Deacon Nomination for with your bulletin. Please take a form, prayer over it this week, fill the form out by nominating up to three men to serve in the role of Deacon for the next three years, and bring it with you to the August 17th service to turn in.
Looking Ahead:
True North Student Ministry Pool Party on Saturday, August 16th (3:00-8:00pm) at the Gillespie's
DMA (Senior Adult) Luncheon on Thursday, August 21st at noon
Bible Fellowship Leaders Brunch on Saturday, August 23rd from 9:30-11:00am (FLC)
The Labor Day Weekend Picnic will be held on Sunday, August 31st at 5:00pm. Please bring a dessert to share and a chair. We will be celebrating baptism as well!
August Mission Project: Our Missions Team will be collecting supplies for the Calvary Home For Children. This Children’s Home in Anderson is a non-profit organization that cares for children who have been abused or neglected and are often in the Foster care system.
There are currently 5 group homes on their campus and the children are cared for in a homelike setting. We will collect items for them during August. These are a few of the things they need:
Paper Towels, Liquid Hand Soap (like Dial), Paper Plates, Q-Tips (cotton), Ziplock Bags (quart and gallon), Children’s Motrin Pain Reliever (generic okay), Heavy duty Aluminum Foil Benadryl Tablets (generic okay), Dishwasher Pods, Disinfecting Wipes (like Clorox or Lysol), Spray Cleaner (like Pine Sol or Lysol), Laundry Detergent
Verse for the week: “My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise” – Psalm 57:7
Prayer Focus This Week: Port Elizabeth, South Africa
Please lift up missionary Shannon Jensen in prayer, as she has an opportunity to speak to a group of women parolees in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, in early August. Pray that she will be able to share clearly how Jesus can change their lives. “Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things” - Hebrews 13:18
