Verse of the week: “The earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to the Lord” – Psalm 24:1

Prayer Focus this week: Theological Education in Tanzania
“All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Cultural mandates and God’s Word often clash. One such mandate, which involves young men who have reached the age of being recognized as adults in the community, requires the young men to be involved in actions and practices that are contrary to God’s Word. Some of the young men who are believers want to compromise so that they are not rejected by friends. Others want to obey God. Ask God to help those who are His children to desire to stand firm in their faith and, thus, please the Lord and not their friends. Also pray for pastors and other church leaders who are taking a stand in the community to defend their faith and their children against those cultural mandates, and pray that their defense will stand on the truth of God’s Word. “The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments is everlasting” - Psalm 119:160.

Whole Life Stewardship: Leveraging connections for Gospel good.
As Christians who believe in the sovereignty of God, we do not but into the notion of happenstance of coincidence. We know that everything has a time, place, and purpose under Heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1). That most certainly includes the relationships and connections that we have in life and we must be very intentional in stewarding those connections well.
For example, it’s not a coincidence that an unbelieving neighbor who just moved into the home beside the a Christian. It’s not happenstance when a coworker shares with a church member that they feel like they need to get back in church and are looking for a good one to check out. When a friend comes to a believer and shares their personal struggles and ask for advice, it’s not something out of left field when
Situations like do not come about because of random chance but by sovereign orchestration. Stewarding these connections well means taking advantage of the opportunities that the Lord has set before us by being salt and light. It’s leveraging relationships for the sake of the Gospel, sharing the good news of Christ in both word and deed.
Think for a moment about those relationships and connections, both old and new, that God has blessed you with. Are you stewarding them well? Pray today about how you can best leverage them for Gospel advance. Share the good news with that lost neighbor! Counsel that Christian friend who has confided in you with Biblical instruction. Invite that coworker or classmate to church!
